This is for you if
- Your return has moving parts — self-employment income, rental property, equity compensation, investments beyond a simple brokerage.
- You lived or worked in more than one state this year.
- You are a US citizen or resident with income or accounts abroad.
- Something significant happened: a sale, an inheritance, a marriage or divorce, a move.
- You would rather someone checked the year before it closes than after.
What sits outside this service
- Investment management and financial planning, which are separate professions.
- Insurance advice.
- Returns for a trust or an estate. Those are their own filings and this firm does not take them on.
- Legal advice and attest work — audits, reviews and compilations — which this firm does not provide.

Common questions
My return is not complicated. Do I need a CPA?
Often not, and we will say so. Where a CPA earns the fee is when there are moving parts: business income, rental property, equity compensation, multiple states, a foreign account, a large one-off event, or a year in which something significant changed.
I moved states this year. How does that work?
You will generally file a part-year return in each state, and the split depends on when residency actually changed and where the income was earned. It is worth getting right the first time; states are active about residency.
I am a US citizen living abroad. What do I have to file?
US citizens file on worldwide income regardless of where they live. Beyond the return itself, foreign accounts can trigger FBAR and FATCA reporting, which carry their own penalties for non-filing separate from any tax due.
What is the difference between tax planning and tax preparation?
Preparation reports what already happened. Planning changes what happens next — entity choice, timing, retirement contributions, how a sale is structured. Preparation runs on a season; planning runs on the year. See our tax planning and advisory page.
